Uncle Richard was generous, kind, supportive, and always there for our family - from helping my grandfather get his benefits as a Filipino veteran of WWII (even after his death, Uncle Richard would make sure he got his benefits as a veteran) to attending major milestone events including my 16th birthday, my brother’s graduation party, and my grandmother’s 75th birthday. If they could be there, Uncle Richard and Tita Jocelyn would always travel to attend family gatherings for both happy and sad events. Even when we couldn’t get together, Uncle Richard was ever present, sending gifts for Christmas or Christmas cards - he was always thoughtful and cared so much for his extended family. I’ll miss our talks about politics, philosophy, health matters, and all sorts of other topics; whatever the topic, I always learned from him. Rest in peace, Uncle Richard.
