Obituary of Janice Ann Foley

Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janice A. Foley, 70, of Walton peacefully and unexpectedly went home to the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2022 at home. Janice was born on December 12, 1951 in Hoboken, NJ. She was the youngest child and only daughter of the late Bernard and Josephine (Henning) Fiedler. On February 20,1988 she married the greatest love of her life, Bernard E. Foley, Sr. He predeceased her on June 22, 2004. Janice was a daycare provider in her home for 30 years. She lovingly took care of countless children through those years as if they were her own. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Walton where she served as a trustee for many years, treasurer for the UMW, performed countless administrative and financial duties, and was one of the founding mothers of the pork roast dinner. She was also on the committee that remodeled the kitchen after the flood of 2006. Every year she meticulously organized a basket auction which not only helped raise money for the church, but also a local family in need. Decades ago, Janice and her late husband organized the sponsoring of the church Altar Family which consists of collecting donations of food and gifts to bless a family in need during the holidays. She was also a member and officer of the Walton Grange assisting with welcoming new members, the kitchen committee, and willingly baking her “world famous” cream puffs for events and fundraisers. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and most importantly spending time with family and friends (who were really family also). Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved to decorate every room of her home with holiday cheer. Every room had a Christmas tree—or two or three! She was a giver. Dedicated to helping anyone who needed it in whatever way she could—whether it be offering odd jobs around her home or adopting families in need to deliver food and gifts to. Janice is survived by and will forever be missed by her loving family.
