Obituary of Bonnie L. Van Loan

Bonnie L. Van Loan, 80, of Walton went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with cancer. Bonnie was born on December 29, 1941 in Walton, the daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy (Somers) Van Loan. She spent most of her days caring for her children, grandchildren and loved ones. Bonnie loved spending time with her family, she especially enjoyed her grandchildren, and great grandchildren and her fur babies, Cal and Sassy who were rescue cats. Bonnie loved going dancing, baking her delicious jelly cookies and apple dumplings, 4 wheeling, and listening to music. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, she loved decorating 5 trees a year. She attended East Branch Community Church and Senior Dance Club in Sidney. Bonnie is survived by her loving family, daughters, Cindy (Bob) Boecke of NC; Tina (Bill) Picinich of Walton; Kim (Bill) Gregory of Walton; Teresa Holt of SC; sons, Bryan Mead of Walton; Kevin (Amy) Mead of PA; Eric (Michelle) Mead of Texas; Bobby (Rebekah) Doig of Walton; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 on the way, sisters, Faye Anderson of Walton; Linda Whitaker of Walton, Sherrie Murphy and Bill Scully of Walton, brother, Don (Francine) Van Loan of Georgia, several cousins, nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, son, Jeffery Mead, brothers, Ronald and Doug Van Loan, brother in laws, Richard Whitaker and Sterling Murphy. Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held at 1 PM with Pastor Paul Cicio, officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery. Following the burial the family will be gathering at the Walton Fire Dept. Hall for a celebration of Bonnie's life.
