Kenneth J. Utter, 61, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. Ken was born on April 4, 1961 in Sidney, NY the son of the late Junior and Jane (Eckert) Utter. On October 13, 2001 he married the former Ruth Ann Lynch. Ken was a Janitor at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton for many years. He enjoyed spending his days playing with his grandbabies and working on derby cars with his son. Kenneth loved to fish, hunt, go camping, and playing horseshoes with his family and friends. Kenneth is survived by his loving family, his wife, Ruth Ann Utter, his children, Kyle (Nikki) Utter of Maryland, NY; April (Richard) Murphy of Walton, NY; Arlene (Austin) Utter of Walton, NY; grandchildren, Kendra, Arianna, Lucas, Carrie, Prestyn Wyatt, Jadynn, Joshua, and great grandson, “Chunk”; sisters, Deb (Fred) Hitt, Bonnie (Steve) Craig, brothers, Daniel (Tammy) Utter, Roger (Pam) Utter; Robert (Barb) Utter, several sister and brothers in laws in Cortland County and surrounding areas, his adopted dad “Chippy” and best friend, Lester Howard, mother in law, Ruth Lynch of Virgil, NY and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his father in law, Harry Lynch, Sr. and his infant daughter, Katie Ann Utter, along with 2 sisters in laws and a brother in law, and granddaughter, Mia Mae Utter. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1 PM at Ouleout Cemetery, Franklin. Arrangements are under the direction of the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
