Obituary of Howard A. Finch

Howard A. Finch, 89, of Walton passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Fox Hospital Nursing Home in Oneonta, following a long illness. Howard was born on February 26, 1933 in Franklin, NY at the family farm, the son of the late Ralph Paul and Mary Elizabeth (Lambert) Finch. On November 12, 1982 he married Jimmie Rodgers Hunt. Howard was a self-employed Quarryman working in quarry’s in Walton and the surrounding areas. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Howard is survived by his loving family, his wife of 39 years, Jimmie, stepsons, Jim Hunt and Ann Gregory and family of Bainbridge, Michael and Jean Hunt of Walton, sons, Scott Finch of Sidney, Mike Finch and family of TX, Jess Finch of Homer NY, daughters, Teri and Richard Moos of Oneonta, Vicki and Robert Ives of Guilford, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and John Miller of Unadilla, NY, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Henchey, brothers, Donald and Robert Finch, sister and brother in laws, Marge and Clarence (Bud) Schmitz, Irene and Lyle Hotaling. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 1PM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with Pastor Bob Wilkie, officiating. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
