Obituary of Laura Jean MacGibbon

Laura Jean MacGibbon, 95, of Walton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Roscoe Community Nursing Home following a brief illness. Born July 19, 1926, in Walton, she was a daughter of the late John Campbell and Frances Tuttle. Laura worked at several local business in the Walton community though out the years, to include Stockton Avenue Market, The Fabric Shop and as a Waitress at Poor Richards Restaurant. When Laura was not working, she enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the U.S. She also enjoyed baking, making crafts, long walks with her husband Raymond and reading a good book. She was a longtime member of the Walton United Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her children Ken MacGibbon (Dixie), Cathy Elwood (Donald), Karen White (Edward) and Keith MacGibbon; grandchildren Annette, Tom (Dawn), Gary (Kaycee), Cammie, Nicola, Bobbie-Jo, Stacey (Jimmy), Edward, Kristy, Sara, James and Mark (Tabitha); great grandchildren Ryan, Nicole (Caine), Joshua (Kacie), Derrick, Amanda, Garrett, Grayson, Daxtin, Nathan, Lane, Joshua, Noah, Amelia, Jolie and J.T.; and great great grandchildren Elliott and Riley Paige. Laura is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law’s Alta Holley, Betty MacGibbon and Audrey MacGibbon. Laura is predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond MacGibbon who passed away October 5, 2007; brother Donald Campbell; sisters June Holton, Camilla Peluso, Jane Benna, and Faye Niece. A graveside service to celebrate Laura’s life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1 P.M. at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with Pastor Paul Huh officiating. Memorial donations in Laura’s memory may be made to the Roscoe Community Nursing Home Resident Holiday Fund, 420 Rockland Road, Roscoe, NY 12776.
