Obituary of Emily Diane Vollkommer

Emily Diane Vollkommer “DeeDee”, 69, a longtime resident of Walton, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Born September 11, 1951, in Walton, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Williams. DeeDee always cherished her time with her grandkids and was considered a Grandmother to many children in Walton, always being referred to as “Gramma DeeDee”. DeeDee loved sewing and crocheting especially for her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and always made sure everyone was fed. DeeDee was likely to be seen cruising around town on her scooter. She had a passion for music, especially Elvis Presley. Survivors include her daughters, Keri Vollkommer and Amy Shelton (Jeffrey); brother, Tracy Williams (Ronda); sister, Doreen Williams (Chris Grace); grandchildren, Brianne Tallman (Cedric), Lindsey Lewis, Justin Lewis, Brooke Adam (Travis), Alexis Marlett, Gabriella Shelton, Jeffrey Shelton, Jr.; great grandchildren, Bella Carpinone, Camryn Giegher, Jayda Giegher, Bryley Singleton, Parker Cash, Tinsley Endress, Travis Terry, Jr.; She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including two special nephews, Travis (Kristine) and Jason Butler (Cheryl). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Williams, who proudly served our country in the United States Army and Vietnam War. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 10AM to 12PM at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. A service to celebrate DeeDee’s life will be held privately. Burial will follow at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton, with Pastor Bert Moore, officiating. Immediately following the Graveside Service, all are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for DeeDee at the family’s home on Fancher Avenue. From a young age DeeDee was very close to her mother and brother whom both passed early on in her life. We know now that they are all united together again.
