William “Bill” Roger Rieman, Sr., 79, passed away at his home on Monday, August 17, 2020 surrounded by his loving family, following a long illness.
Born on June 6, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Elmer and Anna Rieman.
In 1963, Bill married his loving wife, Sandra “Sandy” Beverlin.
Bill and Sandy were longtime members of New Hope Community Church. Bill worked as a stone mason for over 50 years; he loved his work and enjoyed working with stone especially on chimney’s and fireplaces. Over the years, he has bowled with several local leagues. Hunting was another passion of his. Attending the Delaware County Fair with his grandchildren was something he looked forward to every year. Bill was a very social man who loved life and could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Rieman; children, Melissa Tschuschke (Charles, Jr.), William Rieman, Jr. (Rick Sajovic) and Mary DeGaetani (Raymond); his brothers, James Rieman (Judy), Raymond Rieman (Nila), Phillip Rieman, Kenneth Rieman (Stacie), Scott Rieman (Kristin) and Russell Rieman (Linda); his sisters, Patricia Allen (Tim) and Rosemary Oropallo (Carl); a sister-in-law, Marilyn Rieman; three grandchildren, Nicholas DeGaetani, Kami DeGaetani and Kira DeGaetani; longtime friends, Thomas and Linda D’Ambrosio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Debra Sundstrom; a brother, Thomas Rieman; a sister, Nellie Peters; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Peters.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 11 to 1 P.M. at New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Ave., Walton. A service to celebrate Bill’s life will follow at the church at 1 P.M., with Pastor Larry Light, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
