Obituary of Andrew Beers
Andrew M. Beers, 74, of Walton passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at home, following a long illness.
Andy was born on December 1, 1943 in Walton, the son of the late William H. and Geraldine (Drumm) Beers. He was a lifetime resident of the Walton area. On February 22, 1964 he married the former Phyllis Cole in Walton.
Andy worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the NYS Department of Transportation in Walton for 30 years retiring in 1996. He was affiliated with the Riverside Alliance Church in Walton. In August of 1997 he accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and was baptized on August 16, 2015. He was also a former member of the Walton Fire Department, NRA, and CSEA.
Andy was an avid hunter and enjoyed being outdoors watching the wildlife from his back porch. He was a gentleman farmer and enjoyed raising and caring for pigs, heifers, and cows. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved kids and dogs.
Andy is survived by his loving family, his wife, Phyllis, children, Dennis Beers (Kristine Russell) of Walton, Lorie and Raymond Flavell of Berne, NY; grandchildren, Lesley Beers, James and Amber Beers, Logan and Samantha Flavell, great grandchildren, Lillie and Gunner Beers, brother, William H and Darlene Beers of Roscoe, NY; Ruth Tennant of Unadilla, NY; Terry Lambrecht (Stuart Axtell), of Masonville, NY; mother in law, Marian I. Cole, sister in law, Deborah Cole, brother in laws, Daniel and Kathryn Cole, Raymond and Virginia Cole, Philip and Janet Cole, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Clinton, Dick, and Earl Beers, sisters, Phylis Schriver, Laverna Foree and father in law, Philip L. Cole.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September, 15, 2018 from 1 to 3 PM at the Riverside Alliance Church, 110 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 3 PM with Pastor Will Balta, Officiating. People are invited downstairs in the fellowship hall after the service for food and fellowship.
